First Appointment FAQ
Your First Appointment
At Peak, accessible mental health services mean we have a simple process so you can focus on what truly matters. Whether you have had therapy before or this is your very first time, our easy scheduling process makes getting started easy.
Speak with a coordinator
When you call our office you will speak with our Client Care Coordinator who will walk you through what to expect from therapy at Peak Behavioral Health and what you can expect from working with one of our Psychotherapists or Medication Providers..
Complete questionnaire
During the screening process our client care coordinator will ask you general questions about the services you are seeking, identify your method of payment/verify insurance benefits and then discuss which provider would be a good fit for your needs.
Schedule an appointment
After identifying your method of payment/ verifying your insurance, you will get scheduled with one of our providers. Our Client Care Coordinator will send you an appointment confirmation email for your appointment and then you are all set to go!
During your first appointment
Every provider’s style is a bit different, but you can expect your provider to introduce themselves, share their credentials, their scope of practice and also what you can expect from them during your sessions.
Your provider will ask you to share what led to you scheduling an appointment and ask questions about your family, health, relationships, etc. to gain more insight into who you are and to better understand the concerns you are having.
In many ways, your sessions will feel like a typical conversation, but with someone that is supporting you as your are sorting it all out!
Now not a good time?
Don’t fret! We all have to do things on our own time and there may never be the “right” time, but there may be a better time, and we get that! In the meantime, checkout our mental health resources and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions!.
