At Peak we provide mental health therapy to young kiddos, adolescents and young adults. We understand how even children and teens struggle with identifying their emotions, regulating their emotions, adjusting to all of the changes that happen in life and most of all feeling safe asking for help.

Many of us can recall some of the most joyous and challenging times in our childhood and we want to support your young one to work through the icky parts, (frequent changes, transitions and uncertainties) so they don’t get out of control or manifest in unhealthy or harmful ways.

What are the benefits of Child  Teen Therapy?

Anyone may find that they benefit from talk therapy. Specifically, if your kiddo or young adult has symptoms of anxiety, nervousness, feelings of worry, depression, sadness, fear, or have experienced any bullying, going through any change (moving, switching schools, change of friends, bodily changes, family structure, etc.) they will likely benefit from support along the way.

Anyone who has struggled with their mental health in the past; social anxiety, anger outbursts, self-harm, low self-esteem, those who easily shut-down, those with underlying emotional problems.

What are the goals of Child  Teen Therapy?

Every kiddo and young adult with work with their Psychotherapist to develop individualized goals based on the needs of the kiddo or young adult. Typically, identifying and articulating emotions, having the space to process anything that has caused them distress, regulate emotions and learn coping skills, learn how to ask for help, create awareness about their problems, and improve their ability to problem-solve.

Are parents or caregivers involved?

Because we are believers in family systems, it is highly encouraged that parents and or caregivers be involved in the therapy process. With that being said, each kiddo has their own individual needs and because of that, the involvement of parents and caregivers will vary based on their individual needs.

What can my kiddo expect?

Talking, playing games, creating art, listening to music, sitting in silence. With that being said, each kiddo has their own individual needs and because of that, the involvement of parents and caregivers will vary based on their individual needs.
